About the program

A digital knowledge program consisting of 12 weekly webinars that provide a progressive learning journey, starting with electric vehicle fundamentals and covering user experience, charging technologies, charging infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and future opportunities. The program delivers simplified and interactive scientific content presented by academics, experts, and industry specialists, with session recordings and attendance certificates available to participants.

Objectives

Raise public awareness of electric vehicles and charging systems. Simplify the fundamental concepts of electric vehicles. Correct common misconceptions about electric vehicles. Enhance knowledge of charging technologies and infrastructure. Enable the community to make informed decisions regarding electric vehicles.     Sector Voice: Challenges, Opportunities and Partnerships in the Electric Vehicle Sector

    The seventh session of the Knowledge Empowerment Series for Electric Vehicles was an interactive workshop moderated by Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Anazi, Vice Chairman and Founding Member of the Electric Vehicle Technologies Society. The workshop explored the current state of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, covering the beneficiary journey before and after purchasing an electric vehicle, as well as market readiness and the technical, regulatory and operational requirements of charging facilities. It also examined the challenges facing users, suppliers, contractors, investors and site owners, with a focus on four key sector gaps: knowledge, access, implementation and trust. The scientific material highlighted national efforts in fast-charging infrastructure, local manufacturing, technical standards, safety and sustainability. It also introduced practical proposals, including the establishment of a “Sector Voice Observatory” to publish periodic reports, monitor recurring challenges, develop targeted knowledge resources and provide recommendations supporting the growth of Saudi Arabia’s electric vehicle sector.
