Seventh Knowledge Empowerment Session Explores Challenges and Opportunities in the Electric Vehicle Sector

On Monday evening, September 14, 2026, the Electric Vehicle Technologies Society held the seventh online session of its Knowledge Empowerment Series for Electric Vehicles, titled “Sector Voice: Challenges, Opportunities and Partnerships in the Electric Vehicle Sector.” The session was moderated by Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Anazi, Vice Chairman and Founding Member of the Society, as well as a researcher and specialist in renewable energy engineering and electric vehicles. The session addressed the current state of the electric vehicle sector and its most significant challenges and needs. It also discussed charging infrastructure, professional qualification and standards, user experience, public awareness and the correction of common misconceptions surrounding electric vehicles. Additional topics included investment, technology and research opportunities, the Society’s initiatives, and opportunities for cooperation and partnership among manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, electric vehicle owners and users, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, academics and sector specialists. The session aimed to listen to the voice of the sector, identify its priorities, examine challenges and proposed solutions, and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders. These efforts support the development of recommendations that contribute to the Society’s initiatives and the sustainable growth of Saudi Arabia’s electric vehicle sector. The session forms part of the Society’s continuing efforts to promote specialized knowledge, facilitate dialogue and exchange expertise, and create opportunities for meaningful collaboration and strategic partnerships.
